Decisions, decisions. As a consumer, you may not notice all the decisions that happen behind the scenes in order to make the product or service that you’re buying what it is. As a business owner, however, it’s likely the only thing that you think about. Every piece of a business can be traced down to a single decision, and it’s likely that you can remember making that decision. However, if you can remember making that decision, it’s likely that you also remember the feeling of stress that accompanied it. Of course, you probably don’t need to remember that feeling at all, as you’re likely still feeling it or have felt it recently. Ultimately, making the crucial but necessary decisions when running your business can feel stressful and overwhelming, especially in a world where everyone seems to be vying for your attention.

At Payday HCM, we understand those stressed and overwhelmed feelings. We have plenty of current clients, as well as potential clients, who approach us with questions about a whole host of different decisions that they have to make. For us, it’s important that we answer these questions not only thoroughly but also honestly, providing clients and potential clients with the information they need to make the decision that’s best for their business—regardless of whether they decide to do business with us.

That’s why, in this article, we’ll be going over the differences between two different HCM service bureaus—Payday HCM and Rippling—to help you decide which one is the better fit for your business. We’ll go over four different components of each provider’s core services:

We’ll cover the kinds of services offered by both providers within each of their respective categories, as well as the things that help both bureaus stand out amongst the crowd. By the time you’re finished reading this article, you’ll have all the information you need to make a stress-free decision for you and your business.

Payday HCM vs. Rippling: Payroll Services

First up, payroll. We’ll start by going over the payroll services that are offered by both Rippling and Payday HCM.

Rippling Payroll Services

Rippling started as an HR software startup in 2016 in San Francisco, California. Rippling has retained those roots over the years, championing its cloud-based HR and payroll software that’s built for businesses with a large amount of data and information to keep track of, looking for one place to manage it all.

Rippling’s payroll services rely on the customizability and configurability of its capable HRIS platform. Businesses can automate a number of processes, automatically check payroll runs for errors, and integrate other software platforms for things like expense management with Rippling’s payroll software. Rippling also emphasizes its global payroll platform, allowing businesses with employees around the world to easily pay their employees.

Payday HCM Payroll Services

Payday’s payroll services start from the first initial meeting with a payroll expert. From there, our team works to create a payroll solution that fits your business best, equipped with payroll and HR software with features like timekeeping, wages on demand, garnishment processing, and more.

At Payday, you’ll work with a dedicated customer representative team made up of a group of payroll specialists who understand the ins and outs of your business. You’ll also be working within the isolved HRIS software platform, providing your organization with an all-in-one solution not only for payroll, but for HR and benefits administration as well.

Payday HCM vs. Rippling: HR and Benefits Services

Now that we have a better understanding of both Payday HCM’s and Rippling’s payroll services, we’ll go over how their HR and benefits services offerings compare.

Rippling HR and Benefits Services

Much like their payroll services, Rippling’s HR services are largely built around its software offerings, providing businesses with software tools that can help automate certain processes and increase accessibility to the HR system. Through their HCM software, businesses can automate things like onboarding, offboarding, and promotions.

Rippling’s benefits services is similar, giving businesses looking for a tech-forward approach to benefits the opportunity to automate and streamline each step of the benefits administration process. Rippling can work as your broker or with your own chosen broker, giving you access to a variety of different insurance and benefits options.

Payday HCM HR and Benefits Services

Payday’s HR services help you to remain compliant with any current or new labor laws and regulations while also helping you manage every aspect of your business’s HR functions. Payday’s HR experts will help you with any HR-related questions or concerns you may have, while isolved can help you run efficient onboarding, training, and performance management processes.

Payday’s benefits services give you access to a dedicated team of benefits specialists that will help you craft a comprehensive and cost-effective benefits plan that works for your business. Payday can function as your benefits broker, helping you source the right benefits provider, whether that be health, life, dental, or vision insurance, or other benefits like 401(k) management and health savings accounts.

Payday HCM vs. Rippling: Customer Support and Experience

Now that we’ve covered both Payday HCM’s and Rippling’s total HCM offerings, we’ll dive a bit deeper into the customer experience working with each provider.

Rippling Customer Support and Experience

Rippling’s customer support platform is built on empowering users with the ability to search for the answers to their questions, giving them the ability to proactively solve issues within their system. Rippling’s help center gives you access to a large FAQ library and, for more complicated issues, the ability to contact a customer support representative.

Rippling also provides a number of online resources to help businesses not only with their platform but with other aspects of running a business as well. Their Rippling+ email newsletter, blog, webinars, and recipes (templates designed to work within Rippling) give users the answers they need when they need them.

Payday HCM Customer Support and Experience

Payday HCM’s customer support platform is built on personal relationships: you’ll work with a dedicated customer representative team that knows the specifics of how your business runs and the best way to provide you with the solutions you need. Phone, email, and in-person (for local clients) support are all available.

Payday also operates a number of resources to help clients stay up-to-date with any pertinent changes or topics that may affect their business. Payday’s learning center and weekly email newsletter can help keep your business in the know. You’ll also have access to isolved’s robust support network, ensuring any software questions can be answered.

Payday HCM vs. Rippling: Pricing

Finally, the moment we’ve all been waiting for. Now, we’ll go over Payday HCM’s and Rippling’s pricing to see how the two compare.

Rippling Pricing

Rippling’s pricing platform breaks up their services into a few different categories, with their main software platform (mainly encompassing HR functions) serving as their main pricing option. The “Rippling Platform” includes things like a workforce directory, onboarding automation, document management, and access to the Rippling app.

Businesses can also add on Rippling’s other service offerings, like payroll and benefits administration, or other service options like scheduling and learning management. Rippling’s “Starter Pack” starts at $15 per employee per month and includes basic payroll processing and automated tax filings.

Payday HCM Pricing

Payday’s pricing breaks down into a few different tiers for our initial payroll service offerings. Our “Core” pricing plan starts at $7.20 per employee per month plus $110 per month. This base plan includes payroll processing, tax filings, and employee self-service. Our “Core with Time” plan, which includes timekeeping, starts at $9.60 per month per employee plus $133 per month.

Payday’s HR and benefits services are more customizable; therefore, it’s best to contact one of our HR and benefits experts to get specifics on how much a solution for your business might cost. You can also contact our HCM specialists to get a demo on how the isolved platform, combined with Payday HCM’s expertise, can help your business.

Find the Right Fit For Your Business

Ah, the duality of choice. We all want the freedom to be able to make the choices that are best for us (or, in the case of a business owner, best for their business), but we don’t want to deal with the stress that can accompany these choices. It’s no different when it comes to running a business: you started your business because you felt passionate about something—it’s likely that something wasn’t stressing out about finding a payroll provider. With the information provided in this article, we hope that we can take a little bit of that stress off your shoulders and help you get back to what you’re actually passionate about.

Running a business is all about making decisions. At the heart of those decisions is always the best interest of the business and all the people involved in running it, regardless of how big or small the decision may be. Regardless of whether you’re considering being a client of ours, we want to ensure that you make the decision that is right for you and your business. If you want to learn more about Payday’s payroll, HR, and benefits services, you can schedule a meeting with one of our payroll experts who can help find the right solution for you.
